Current Mode First Order Phase Shifter Based on CDTA

This paper presents simple current controlled current mode first order phase shifter based on a modern active building block for analog signal processing, namely current differencing transconductance amplifier (CDTA). The proposed phase shifter consists of only single CDTA and one grounded capacitor. Any lump resistor component is not required thus it is possible to suit for IC implementation. Magnitudes of the circuit are found to be the same as of the input current where as their phases can be easily shifted by varying the CDTA's bias currents, one in the leading phase and the other in the lagging phase manner relatively to the input current. The pole frequency can be controlled via dc bias current. Simulation results from PSPICE are included to verify the workability of the proposed phase shifter.
